The Cookies Initiative
The cookies initiative is an effort to install signs that discourage idling in various locations. The way the program works is simple. In order to raise funds for anti-idling signs, you hold a bake sale. The Bake sale serves two purposes: 1) It is a good way to earn fast funds. Signs typically cost around $30. 2) It creates a sense of awareness. Bake sales are relatively quick and easy, and people are likely to stop by to see what's happening. The secondary goal of these bake sales is to ensure that people are educated about the causes and dangers of global climate change. It is essential that customers know that their money is being put toward the purchase and placement of no idling signs in strategic locations. Over the next year, we hope to place "No Idling" signs in front of many public buildings both in Jackson, and around the state of Wyoming.
